As one of the 4 lakes that make up June lake loop, this one is the second largest and the most popular out of the four due to having a "beach" on the south end of the lake. There are two boat rental businesses right next to each other. We payed $60 for half a day (12 PM to 5:30 pm) they have different boats for you to rent. I recommend getting one with a top for shade. We unfortunately got there late and the only 16 footers they had available, had to cover. Sun block will be your best friend and umbrellas as well. You can rent out fishing equipment as well, however the prices vary according to what you want. You are NOT allowed to beach the boat if you rented it. But you can dock it at the dock and come back later till your time runs out. The lake is amazing, the view surreal, and the experience unforgettable. As if straight from a "Lord of the Rings" landscape, you feel some type of magic when you are in the middle of the lake surrounded by these beautiful mountain range. Pictures seriously do no justice. Nature can only be truly captured by the human eye and saved by the brain. It makes you forget about the ugliness of the world today. I highly recommend it.
