Sulga House — A Highly-Rated Homestyle Korean Spot in LA’s Ktown
Went with friends on Lantern Festival night to try this homestyle Korean restaurant. Checked the reviews beforehand — super high ratings — and sure enough, the place was filled with Korean locals. We ordered four simple dishes, all on the lighter side. Portions were decent — six of us left very full, with leftovers. Some dishes were just okay, others were highlights. Great spot for a simple meal or a post-drinking recovery! 🍜 📍 Sulga House of Bone Soup 4451 Beverly Blvd, Koreatown 🌟✨ Spicy Noodle Mildly sweet, labeled as spicy cold noodles but not very spicy — the sauce is light with a subtle kimchi broth flavor. Could use less sugar. Having had many great cold noodles in Ktown, this wasn’t my favorite. 🌟🌟🌟 Seafood Green Onion Pancake Different from typical crispy seafood pancakes — the outside isn’t super crunchy, so it’s less oily. Packed with generous seafood and veggies. A friend said it reminded them of Chinese zucchini egg pancakes! 🥒🦐 🌟✨ Braised Short Rib A classic, mild Korean-style braised beef short rib. Sauce is savory with a hint of sweetness — perfect over rice. Personally found it a bit too easy to replicate at home, and price-to-portion felt just okay. 🌟🌟🌟 Assorted Meat Plate Comes with beef knee, shank, and regular beef in a rich, deeply flavorful broth. Seriously — just this alone could make me finish two bowls of rice! 🍚 Huge portion — even with six people, everyone had two servings and there were leftovers. Others recommend their BBQ and bibimbap, but we were craving something light that night. Ended up around $30 per person — and we were stuffed! Overall, if you’re looking for solid Korean homestyle food, I’d still recommend Jinsol Gukbap first — more variety (pig trotters, various cold noodles, soup rice) and better for diverse tastes. It’s my top pick for homestyle Korean. #DinnerTonight #FoodInspiration #LosAngeles #LALife #LADining #ComfortFood #KoreanCuisine
