Overall: 4.6/5 (dine in)
We came in around 3 PM and there was nobody in the restaurant and we found parking right next to the restaurant. There are two server ladies, one young and one old. Shortly after we came in, a big party of 8 Korean ajummas came in then multiple smaller parties. It already took them awhile to bring out the banchans so the wait for other things took longer. Our older waitress became preoccupied with the large party so we had to flag down the other server to grab our check. Our waitress also forgot one of the sauce we requested so we didn't get it until we were halfway through our meal and caught her attention.
Banchans: They give 3 banchans on 3 compartment plate so everyone gets their own plate. It came with fish cakes, mash potatoes, & I think green onion pancake. The mash potato was my favorite and really unique. It came with cucumbers so it was refreshing. They also gave kimchi & spicy radish for the table.
Seafood Korean Pancake ($25): At first, we were hesitant to order this due to the price but a lot of Yelpers raved about it so we decided to try it. The pancake was huge and different from other Korean restaurant's version. It wasn't like a flat pan fried pancake but was fluffy, thicker, and had an omelette-like texture. The pancake doesn't have any seafood smell/taste which is how I like it. The pancake is soft and pairs well with the dipping sauce. I would recommend it for sure!
Grilled Pork Belly ($25): They gave a pretty good amount of pork belly but it didn't come out sizzling on the sizzling plate. The gochujang sauce was very interesting. It looked like a thick paste that was just dumped on top of the pork belly but the pork belly was marinated well enough to hold flavor on it's on. The sauce itself was pretty good and went well with everything (rice, soup, meat). The spiciness didn't kick in for me until after the meal but my husband got the kick during the meal so it depends on your spice tolerance.
Short Rib Soup ($20): We added extra brisket for about $6 or 8 more and they delivered. There was so much meat in the soup but barely any glass noodles. They give you 2 big short ribs which was enough for the soup alone so you don't need the extra brisket. The clear brisket broth was very pure/filtered well. My husband said it was one of the best he's had. This is perfect to eat for...

I was here when they had a random health inspection check, and it was nice to hear that they got an "A" last time and easily passed with another "A" when I was there.
TL;DR - Clean establishment, amazing & authentic food and family owned & operated.
Amazing family owned spot with amazing food. I don’t like in LA and I’m a greedy fatty, so I ordered the ox tail soup and asked if I could also get the short rib on the side because why not, I don’t know when the next time is that I’ll be here. And they obliged with an up charge no problems at all. Thank you SO much. 🤌🏼🤤❤️
The soups were divine, all the food was delicious, and the banchan reminded me of my mother’s. The kimchi was perfect, the Japchae tasted amazing.
ALSO, I left my hat here by accident and I live in Nashville, TN.. they were nice enough to call me back later. She did indeed call me back later, I asked if I emailed them a UPS label, would they mind boxing it up for me and dropping it off at the market in the same plaza that also happens to be a UPS drop off location.
The owner had me send the label to her daughter to print off. I also asked if I could somehow digitally send them some money and they said not to worry about it and they hope I get my hat back safely.
Like how wholesome and sweet. Thank you again ladies for all of your help, can't wait to come back here again and eat all of the great food.
Thank you ladies...
Read moreMove over Hanbat.. This is my number one spot for gom tang, sullungtang! Although Hanbat has been the locals fav for so many years, I have noticed a change over the years.. is it the smell? More gamey taste? I am not sure. However at Sulga Jinju Gomtang House, the broth does not have that smell, taste clean but full of flavor, and many dishes on the menu are organic! I love all their banchan that they give too, it is comfort food. They have so many other food options other than beef broth soup also that are very good. I can literally taste love from their food. If you like neungmyun, I highly recommend their yam cold noodle dish. Not just looks pretty, its actually very delicious! Broth is made from beets and beef stock. They also have a vegan option, just with beets and it is so good. I crave it often so when I go, I order one soup, and one cold noodles to share. Lastly, owners are so sweet and attentive. You can tell they are passionate about their food and giving good service. When I leave after eating here, I don't feel sick, nauseous, or thirsty, I just leave happy...
