Summer Hiking in Tahoe π²ποΈ | Beat the Heat and Step into a Painting!
Early summer in Tahoe is the perfect balance between chilly and warm! As someone whoβs sensitive to cold, I skipped water activities but still had an amazing time hiking. The scenery was so breathtaking it felt like walking through a painting β I couldnβt stop taking photos! πΈ Walking under the warm sun, surrounded by the rich scent of pine wood, was a treat for both my eyes and lungs. Pure therapy! π In my last post, I shared a few photos from various viewpoints over the weekend, but the Memorial Point trail deserves its own spotlight! Here are the highlights: π Memorial Point Scenic Overlook The starting point! Offers expansive views of the deep blue lake. From here, you can hike south along the trail. π Emerald Cove The first water access point south of Memorial Point. The distant water is wide and photogenic blue, while the shallows are clear emerald green. β οΈ The beach is small, and the path down is steep (not ideal for clumsy folks like me π ). I opted to just admire the stunning colors from above! π Sunset Cove Further south, this spot has a gentle staircase to the beach and wide, flat rocks in the shallow water. π‘ Perfect for sitting on the rocks and taking photos that make you look like a lake spirit blending into the landscape! β¨ π Sand Harbor The grand finale of the trail! Huge beaches β walk past the BBQ zone to discover another vast stretch of sand. The water here is a kaleidoscope of colors: transparent blue in the distance, emerald green where kayaks glide, and sunset-yellow shallow sands with snow-capped mountains as the backdrop. π¦πΏοΈ Ducks and chipmunks here are pros at begging for snacks β bring cookies to interact with these cute critters! Throwing in a bonus photo from early morning when I was still bundled up in a thick coat β a chilly but magical start to the day! βοΈπ§₯ #ThroughMyLens #TravelInspiration #Tahoe #LakeTahoe #CaliforniaTravel #BayAreaWeekends
