Montgomery is the capital of Alabama. It's now a very peaceful and serene place, but traces of historical weight can still be felt. The city itself isn’t large, so it’s easy to explore on foot while strolling around. ✔️First White House of the Confederacy The presidential residence of the Confederacy during the American Civil War, later moved to Virginia as the Confederacy expanded northward. ✨ Freedom Rides Museum A former bus station that tells the story of the Freedom Riders in the 1960s. The door once reserved for Black passengers is still faintly visible. 🥰 The Legacy Museum & National Memorial for Peace and Justice This museum chronicles nearly a century of post-Civil War racial segregation, lynchings, and modern mass incarceration.
