Swiss Food Guide|Take My Word For It
📍Interlaken · Hüsi Bierhaus No exaggeration—the first bite of their pork ribs made my eyes widen in amazement. We loved it so much we went back the next day and had it two days in a row! The ribs are thick, slightly charred on the edges, and the meat is so tender it falls right off the bone. The sauce is perfectly balanced between savory and sweet—absolutely divine. We also tried their Swiss burger on the second day, which was great too, especially with the massive side of salad! Their house-brewed beer (I had the Lager) is highly recommended as well. Even during off-peak hours, the place is packed with locals drinking, so try to visit outside peak times. 📍Lucerne · Wirtshaus Taube Luzern Their signature lamb stew, Stunggis, is a must-try for those who love homestyle flavors—zero gaminess, possibly thanks to a hint of curry (my guess). The potatoes and carrots are melt-in-your-mouth tender, and we devoured two baskets of bread with it—just imagine how satisfying it was! Another standout is their sausage dish, served with an ultra-crispy potato cake and a sweet onion sauce braised in red wine, paired with a hearty sausage. One bite, and you’re in heaven. 📍Zermatt · Walliserstube Zermatt Less recommended—lower value for money. But the location is great, halfway up the hill to the Zermatt Matterhorn Viewpoint, with the aroma wafting from afar. The beef I ordered came with creamy pasta, which got a bit heavy toward the end. They didn’t ask for my preferred doneness, and the beef turned out well-done and a bit dry. If you have other options, no need to make a special trip here. 📍Geneva · Café de Paris chez Boubier They serve only one dish—butter-grilled steak—with a salad included per person. They’ll ask how you’d like it cooked. Since it’s served on an alcohol burner, we ordered medium-rare, but it came out closer to medium. Personally, I found the steak decent, with a garlicky butter sauce that was fragrant. My partner, though, absolutely loved it. #Switzerland #SwissTravel #SwissTourism #SwissFood #Interlaken #Lucerne #Zermatt
