Tahoe Lake Dining | Himmel Haus German Pork Knuckle
First, the address: 3819 Saddle Rd, South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150 I had no idea until I arrived! When we drove to the foot of the mountain, I realized this restaurant is right at the edge of the Heavenly parking lot. Iād been here so many times for skiing and never noticed it! This summer, while planning a trip to Tahoe, I came across this place called Himmel Haus on Xiaohongshu and was instantly drawn in by their massive pork knuckle! š It took just over four hours to drive here from the South Bay, and we made sure to have dinner here on our first night!š We ordered almost all the signature dishes. Highly recommend the pork knuckle!! The sausage platter (every single one was delicious!) and the schnitzel were also great, though the fried items felt a bit standard in comparison. We also got a warm spinach salad that I didnāt manage to photograph, but it was fantasticāI loved the thick-cut bacon and the pickled sour eggs. The sauerkraut served with the sausages was top-notch! The pretzel was freshly baked, but I was honestly too full to try it. The Brussels sprouts and mac and cheese were also satisfying. The beer was excellent tooāIām a big fan of dark beer!š Even two hours after finishing the meal and an hour of walking around the lake, Iām still completely stuffed lol š. Highly recommend this place for anyone visiting Tahoeāwhether youāre here with family, friends, or planning a ski trip this winter! The space is spacious, both indoors and outdoors. Summer in Tahoe is so comfortableāI really donāt want to go back to the Bay Area! #TahoeEats #BayAreaWeekends #LakeTahoe #Tahoe #BayAreaLife #BayAreaGetaways #Travel š²
