š° Tai Er LAļ½Tiny Portions, Big Regrets
I went to Tai Er (Los Angeles) with an open mind⦠and left with an empty wallet and an even emptier stomach! š I always thought it was overpriced in China, but the LA branch takes it to another level. š Old Pickled Fish (Large) ā A $70 Lesson The portion was shockingly small for a "large" order! We even paid extra for veggies, and the total amount still felt miserly. It costs twice as much as a typical Chinese restaurant, with less than half the portion. The flavor was confusingāthe pickled mustard greens barely tasted pickled. Without the menu, I'd never guess this was "pickled fish." The chrysanthemum petals floating on top? Purely decorativeāno aroma, just vibes. š š Everything Else: Small is the Theme ć» Chongqing Mouthwatering Chicken: The chili oil was fragrant, but the lotus root was bland, and the portion? Tiny. ć» Boneless Chicken Feet in Chili Oil: Similar issueāflavor didnāt penetrate, small serving. ć» Canāt-Stop-Eating Crispy Pork: The name says it allāthey truly are "small" crispy pork strips. I was speechless. š Final Thoughts: We spent $160 and walked away still hungryāboth physically and emotionally. š¤ The value just isnāt there. In LA, you can find so many restaurants at this price point that deliver way more in quality AND quantity. As for this place⦠I can definitely stop myself from coming back. #TaiErLA #OverpricedLA #LADiningFail #NotWorthIt #PortionProblems #SkipThis #LAFoodReview #ChineseFoodLA #PickledFish #ValueAlert #HollowExperience #SaveYourMoney
