š Day 1 of TAS Road Trip ā Hobartā¦ The capital of Tasmaniaā¦ Letās unlock the city with its stunning pink sunset skies š ā¦ Highly recommend starting your Tas journey here! š Picked up the car at the airportā¦ My partner chose Apex Rentalā¦ A shuttle bus picked us up outside the airport to take us to complete the paperwork. ā ļø Definitely get full insuranceā¦ And we recommend an SUVā¦ We had 3 suitcases in totalā¦ A small car just wouldnāt cut it. šŗļø Route: Hobart Airport ā”ļø Richmond ā”ļø MONA Museum ā”ļø Hobart CBD š Richmond 20-minute drive from the airportā¦ A super picturesque little town -like vibeā¦ Must-see: Richmond Bridge, the oldest stone arch bridge in Australiaā¦ Perfect for a stroll and feeding the ducks around the bridge š¦. š¦ Sweets & Treatsā¦ The ice cream here is deliciousā¦ Iām obsessed with the mint flavor š. š MONA ā Museum of Old and New Art The architecture and exhibits are super bold and avant-gardeā¦ You can get there by car or ferryā¦ Download āThe Oā app to book tickets in advanceā¦ The app also has audio guides for the artworksā¦ Saw many pieces by Chinese artists too. š Hobart CBD Just wander around freelyā¦ You can also walk along Battery Point to the waterfrontā¦ The town is really quietā¦ It gets livelier on Saturdays when the market is on. Sadly didnāt make it to Mount Wellington due to time š¢. š“ Peppina Super tasty Western food ( hit different here lol)ā¦ My partner made a reservation online in advanceā¦ It was freezing outsideā¦ but the restaurant was still packedā¦ Meatballs, scallops, pasta ā all delicious š. š Mƶvenpick Hotel The room was pretty spaciousā¦ But no free parking ā valet parking cost $35 AUD. ā¼ļø Major facepalm momentā¦ My partner dinged the rear side of the car while parking on a slope šš„ā¦ Donāt panic if you have an accident ā just call the policeā¦ The officers were really niceā¦ They helped us file a report and explained how to upload info for insuranceā¦ Luckily it didnāt really affect our tripā¦ The rental company and insurance will handle the rest. ā¤ļø Back at my desk nowā¦ but my heart is still in Australia šāļø #SeeADifferentView #ThisTemplateHitsDifferent #CaptureThisMoment #Tasmania #TasmaniaTravel #Hobart #SmallTownVibes #SlowTravel #TravelSnippets
