Here you can enjoy ocean views, amusement parks, and fishing trips! Things to Do: 1️⃣ Moody Gardens 🌴 $60. A great spot for families with botanical gardens, an aquarium, and a water park. 2️⃣ Fishing Trip 🎣 Party boat fishing: $30 for 4-hour near-shore trip 🚢. Options include 8-hour deep sea or even 30-hour specialty fishing. I chartered a private boat ($625/4hrs) with two crew guides. We bought fishing licenses from Walmart and departed from Galveston Yacht Basin. Caught catfish, redfish, and drum! Crab fishing is also a classic activity among Houston locals. All you need is a string, a chicken leg, and a pier – you can catch dozens on a good day! 🦀 3️⃣ Seawall Boulevard 🌊 Free! A lively coastal strip with colorful beach houses. The water may be murky, but the birds are entertaining – watch cormorants dive dramatically for food. At the end is a family-friendly amusement park. 4️⃣ Galveston Island State Park 🏞️ $5 per person. Perfect for swimming, fishing, picnics, and bird watching. 5️⃣ East End Historic District 🏛️ Free! Explore well-preserved 19th-century architecture, mostly Victorian and Greek Revival styles. Galveston was once Texas’ finest port. 6️⃣ Galveston Island Ferry ⛴️ Free! A 24/7 ferry takes you (and your car!) to Bolivar Peninsula. Great for sunset views – you can even step out of your vehicle while sailing. ❤️ Follow to stay updated!
