Texas Four-City Mini Road Trip
This route: Dallas → Austin → San Antonio → Houston 🛣️ 1️⃣–3️⃣ Blanton Museum of Art (UT Austin) Student tickets only $8 (regular $15) — and UT students get in free! 🎨 The museum is full of photogenic corners and inspiring collections. A cultural must-stop in Austin! 📸✨ 4️⃣ BBQ Showdown – The Rankings: 🥇 Hutchins BBQ = Must-eat! Their brisket is incredibly tender 😋🍖. If you go for dinner, arrive early for the beef ribs — they sell out fast! 🥈 Terry Black’s — Only the Austin location is truly great. The others? Pretty average. Pro tip: Come hungry and follow the smoke! 5️⃣ Texas State Capitol Free guided tours that are surprisingly fun and informative 🏛️. The guides are engaging, the history is rich, and yes — it’s very Instagram-friendly! 📸 6️⃣ Buc-ee’s – The Ultimate Texas Roadside Experience 🦫 More than a gas station — it’s a cultural landmark! You’ll find tons of Texas-exclusive snacks, quirky souvenirs, and free samples . And can we talk about the bathrooms? Unbelievably clean ✨🚽! No wonder everyone says: “You haven’t done Texas till you’ve done Buc-ee’s!” 7️⃣ NASA Johnson Space Center 🚀 Seeing real rockets and astronaut training facilities up close is mind-blowing! 💡 Tip: Get there early to secure tickets for the tram tours — they often sell out by midday. If short on time, prioritize the Astronaut Training Facility Tour — totally worth it! 8️⃣ San Antonio River Walk Honestly… a bit overrated 😅. Nice for a stroll and a margarita, but Chicago’s Riverwalk has way more energy and variety. Still pretty, though — especially at night with the lights! 💡🌉 9️⃣ Shooting Range Fun 🔫 This time, we shot at a private range on a friend’s ranch — felt so cool and very Texas! 🤠 Many friends also recommend official shooting ranges across the state — they’re safe, well-equipped, and even more fun. Next trip, I’m booking one! 🌞 Final Texas Thoughts Big, sunny, and spread out — be ready to drive! Food is affordable and delicious People are genuinely warm and welcoming ❤️ You’ll leave full, happy, and maybe a little sunburned Texas isn’t just a place — it’s a vibe. Can’t wait to go back! #US #Texas #Houston
