West USA Road Trip Chapter 4 Day 5: Santa Barbara → Santa Monica 📍 Detoured through Ojai (I’d been wanting to go!). If you have time, try the orange-flavored ice cream here! 🍦 📍 Surfers Point at Seaside – a popular surf spot right on the route. 🏄 A leisurely, scenic drive with plenty of snacks and stops. Arrived in Santa Monica near dusk. Our Airbnb came with some… unexpected “adventures,” but at least we met a super-chill little squirrel! 🐿️ Grabbed KFC for dinner—even this loyal McDonald’s fan had to admit it hit the spot. 😅 Day 6: Santa Monica → Los Angeles 📍 Beverly Hills 🥣 Jon & Vinny’s – GO EAT HERE! Lucky to walk in without reservations (book ahead to be safe). Must-order: Spicy Fusilli – uniquely delicious pasta. I’d go back just for that! The Little Gem lettuce salad – could eat a whole bowl myself! Pizza? Your call. 🧃 Erewhon – Hailey Bieber’s famous smoothie. Supposedly skin-glowing, but way too sweet for me. 🅿️ Free 2-hour parking is available around Beverly Hills. 📍 Hollywood Sign PSA: Don’t believe every tip about “free parking on that hill”! Yes, parking is free… until you get a ticket 🚨 We were there less than 10 minutes—no clue where the officer was hiding. And so, I now own the most expensive photo of my life. Evening: Stayed at a hotel en route to Vegas and caught a stunning rural sunset. 🌅 Turns out, I still prefer nature over cities.
