Read moreAbsolutely one of my favorite beach areas in Ventura! I have been coming here since I was a kid and still enjoy every visit. The walking/bike trail area and the promenade are wonderful for taking in the view, enjoying the fresh ocean breeze, and walking your fur babies. 🤗🌞 I have even seen people walking their goats down there. Almost everyone is very friendly and will greet one another with a smile or say hello. In addition, it's wheelchair and handicapped friendly.
It's one of the most popular spots for surfing, boogie boarding, swimming and playing in the water. The beach area is beautiful and there is miles of places to set up camp for a day full of fun and sun. If you have kids there is a great little playground with swings and other fun stuff to play on right next to the pier. Speaking of the pier, they're are 2 restaurants and a brewery on the pier. It's also a lovely spot to take a stroll, work on your photography skills, or to do some fishing off of.
Along the promenade you will be able to find 2 more restaurants. If none of those suit your needs, then it's just a short walk to downtown were a plethora of food choices can be found. If you are visiting and need a hotel, the Crown Plaza is a nice place to stay and just about every room has an ocean view. There is also a Marriott close by as well.
If you can't find parking at the free parking lot at the Point, there are several, low cost parking lots sprinkled along the way. It's also right next to the Ventura County Fairgrounds which often has something going on.
So, if you find yourself in Ventura and want to enjoy the ocean and friendly people, this is a great place to do it. I hope you love it as much as my...

The surf here is notoriously fickle, shifting dramatically throughout the day, demanding adaptability and local knowledge. The wave quality can be exceptional when conditions align, but consistency is a rarity. Swells vary wildly, and the point's exposure means it's susceptible to rapid changes in wind and tide. Crowds are equally unpredictable, ranging from sparse sessions to densely packed lineups. Localism is a significant factor at Surfers Point. Respect for the established hierarchy is paramount. Beginners and those unfamiliar with the etiquette are strongly advised to steer clear. The atmosphere can be intense, and a lack of awareness can lead to unpleasant encounters. This is a spot for those who possess both skill and a deep understanding of surf culture. In essence, Surfers Point offers thrilling surf for those who know how to navigate its complexities. It’s a place of fluctuating fortunes, where local knowledge and respect are as essential as...
