The artworks in Florence are scattered throughout the city like pearls

**Florence: The Cradle of the Renaissance and the Romantic "Feilengcui" from Xu Zhimo's Pen** Florence is an inescapable city, a capital of art that has witnessed the splendor of the Renaissance. Countless artists have left their masterpieces here, which are scattered throughout the city's streets and alleys like pearls, narrating its glorious past to the world. --- Hi, I'm Tangtang's mom. Today, I'm taking a city walk through Florence, strolling through the streets and alleys, and feeling the artistic aura emanating from every inch of the land. Standing in front of the ancient architecture, I try to stand still, and in this moment, time seems to stand still. The ancient buildings, narrow streets, exquisite sculptures, and dazzling domes all intoxicate me. It feels as if I can hear the whispers of the artists of yesteryear. Every ancient building and every exquisite sculpture tells me the stories and cultures they carry. --- **Memories of the Sights** πŸ“β‘  **Florence Cathedral (Cattedrale di Santa Maria del Fiore)** A representative building of the early Renaissance, with its red, green, and white exterior exquisitely decorated. It is one of the most beautiful churches in the world, featuring a massive dome. Even Michelangelo admitted that his own dome design "could never match its beauty." πŸ“β‘‘ **Giotto's Bell Tower** Located next to the cathedral, this square tower was designed by the early Renaissance master Giotto, hence its name. It is covered with meticulously designed mosaic patterns and intricate reliefs. πŸ“β‘’ **Baptistery of St. John** Situated in front of the Florence Cathedral, this octagonal building made of white marble was constructed between the 5th and 8th centuries. The east door's sculptures are exceptionally exquisite, crafted by Ghiberti over 27 years. The ten panels depict stories of Adam, Eve, and the Old Testament, earning it the praise of Michelangelo as the "Gates of Paradise." πŸ“β‘£ **Piazza della Signoria** Also known as the Medici Square, it is like a grand open-air sculpture museum where you can admire marble sculptures from different historical periods. βœ… **David Statue**: A masterpiece by the Renaissance sculptor Michelangelo, considered one of the finest male nude statues in the history of Western art. βœ… **Fountain of Neptune**: The face of the sea god resembles Cosimo I, symbolizing Florence's maritime dominance. βœ… **Loggia dei Lanzi**: In contrast to the plain architecture of the Old Palace, it is essentially an open-air sculpture and Renaissance art museum. πŸ“β‘€ **Palazzo Vecchio (Old Palace)** The town hall of Florence, still in use today, it also houses a museum. πŸ“β‘₯ **Dante's House** Famous for the great Renaissance pioneer Dante, it has been turned into a museum in his memory. πŸ“β‘¦ **Piazza Santa Croce** The square features a famous cross, a classic work of Seville's metal forging craftsmanship, adorned with delicate Baroque-style decorations. πŸ“β‘§ **Basilica di Santa Croce** The largest church of the Franciscan Order, it is the final resting place of many notable figures from Tuscany and Italy, including Dante, Galileo, and Michelangelo. --- That's all for today's sharing. If you love art and travel, you definitely shouldn't miss this city of flowers. #Florence #FlorenceCathedral #ItalyTravel #WorldTravel #CityWalk #CityOfFlowers
