The DMV’s 📮 Station-Side Romantic 💌 Postal Museum
This is a colorful and fun museum, known as the Smithsonian’s National Postal Museum, located right next to Union Station in Washington, D.C. 📮 Opening Hours: Every day! From 10 AM to 5:30 PM. It’s the perfect spot to visit when you arrive in Washington or before you leave, to kill some time and snap some pics 📷. It’s great for dates and also family-friendly for those with kids! 📮 Inside the Postal Museum, you’ll find the history of the United States Postal Service (USPS) and its role in various industries. The museum uses engaging scenes and interactive exhibits to bring these historical facts to life. For example, there’s a forest scene where visitors can search for marks on the trees, representing early “mailboxes 📬.” 📮 The museum also has a “stamp collecting” area, showcasing a variety of stamps issued by USPS over the years. There’s a section where you can design your own stamp with a photo, save it electronically, and take home any 6 stamps that were once in use from the table. It’s super romantic for couples to pick out meaningful stamps together 💕. 📮 Another area offers free postcards where you can sit down, write a love letter to yourself, or jot down some encouraging words. You can then buy a stamp of your choice at the museum and send it straight from the Postal Museum to yourself. It’s a wonderful way to show self-love and create a special moment! 📮 With so many museums in Washington, it can feel like a chore to visit them all, with a weird kind of pressure that I’m sure some of you can relate to. Having a museum like this that’s relaxed and doesn’t require reading comprehension is truly a breath of fresh air! #100VenuesToExplore #DMV #PostalMuseum #WashingtonMuseums #FunMuseum #CreativeMuseum #WeekendPlans #EastCoastTravel #Dating #SelfLove
