🍷 The Grove’s Hidden French Bistro Gem

Called Monsieur Marcel — a modest little spot inside the Grove Farmer’s Market, next to their grocery store. Ordered escargot 🐌 and mussels — came out surprisingly delicious! The mussels portion was HUGE, ate till super satisfied 😋. And I really love this kind of laid-back French dining vibe — no need for candlelit darkness or overly fancy rituals (tired of eating in the dark tbh) — this feels like real French life haha 😄. My friend and I chatted like Beijing uncles — discussing Russia-Ukraine, Trump, China… Friend asked: “How does it feel going through schools in China? What’s gaokao like?” Gotta appreciate Americans with genuine curiosity about China! ❤️ Only downsides: the wine content in the mussel broth was so high it felt like drinking wine 🥂, and the bread was too soft and just okay. Service was great though — the waiter’s French-accented English was pretty authentic! 🗣️ #LALife #LAFood #HiddenGem #LAFoodDiscovery #TheGroveLA #LAWeekend #LAFrenchFood
