The Hollywood Sign Could Soon Get Its Own Visitor Center — And You Can Help Make It Happen
The Statue of Liberty in New York, the Eiffel Tower in Paris, or the Colosseum in Rome... Every major city has a monument, building, or sculpture that serves as an unmistakable symbol of its character and culture. And for Los Angeles, that symbol is undoubtedly [the Hollywood Sign.](https://secretlosangeles.com/why-hollywood-sign-isnt-lit-at-night/) But one thing that sets this legendary landmark apart in the City of Angels is that, for now, it lacks a visitor center where people can learn about its incredible history and its local and global significance. That’s about to change. The nonprofit that oversees the sign, The Hollywood Sign Trust, recently shared on social media that it’s exploring ideas for a potential facility and inviting the public to give feedback, featuring an AI-generated concept image. The rendering shows visitors riding a tram, similar to the one at the Getty Center, to a glass-walled building in Griffith Park that houses a theater and a museum. The image places the Hollywood Bowl in the wrong spot and isn’t intended to reflect the real design of a future visitor center. The best part is that the project is being shaped in the open! The Trust is steering everyone to its website so the public can weigh in on what the visitor center should include.
