The Iconic ‘Brady Bunch’ House Could Soon Become An L.A. Historic-Cultural Monument
The iconic mid‐century ranch house from The Brady Bunch, the one that defined suburban TV dreaminess, may soon become forever frozen in time, officially! Nestled in Studio City on Dilling Street, this unassuming gable‐roofed home has long been a pilgrimage spot for fans. And now, it could get the official [landmark status](https://secretlosangeles.com/diane-keaton-la-architecture/) it deserves. The house’s current owner, Tina Trahan, has formally submitted an Historic‐Cultural Monument (HCM) application to the L.A. Department of City Planning, who are backing the effort, arguing that the Brady house isn’t just a TV prop, but a genuine piece of cultural architecture. Why now? Though fans have always loved the place, an initiative to send support letters from the public poured in as part of the application, as the Cultural Heritage Commission is expected to vote on whether to recommend it to the City Council. If approved, any future demolition or major modifications would face serious review. Built in 1959 by architect Harry Londelius Jr., the home was chosen for The Brady Bunch because of its distinctive modernist look, the kind of place viewers could easily imagine an architect dad like Mike Brady calling home.
