The Most Beautiful Ice Cave Tour in Seattle 🧊
New Winter Hiking Discovery! Black Friday shopping was unstoppable, but the rare clear weather was a great excuse to get out and cool off. What was supposed to be an easy 1-mile trip to the ice caves turned into a 2-mile walk to the trailhead due to road closures. I was tempted to turn back, but the flat road 🛣️ and today’s fantastic weather instantly lifted my spirits! 🥳 The trail is mostly flat and not challenging at all. It’s super family-friendly with lots of people hiking with kids and pets. When we reached the Ice caves, the view was stunning. Surrounded by dark mountains, the ice cave looked extra mysterious. Standing in front of the cave, I felt like it was a sword grave that could reveal mystical weapons 🗡️. 👉 Tips: 📵 No Signal in the Mountains: About 20 miles from the destination, the network starts to cut out. I was walking blind without any preparation, relying on my Apple Watch’s outdoor walking record to estimate where I was. It’s best to download an offline map in advance. ☀️ Best Season: It’s recommended to visit on a sunny winter day when the air is fresh and there are very few people. 🚫 Don’t Enter the Ice Cave: It’s best to admire it from the outside as the inside isn’t very safe due to large chunks of ice falling from above 🧊. The whole trip was 7.5 miles and took 3 hours, burning 600 calories. Both the hiking experience and the scenery at the destination were impeccable and very enjoyable! 🥳 #WinterHikingPlans #WinterOutdoorHiking #WinterTravelFolder #SeattleSurroundings #SeattleLife #SeattleHiking #IceCave #WhereToGoOnWeekends #HolidayGetaways #BeautifulSceneryOnTheRoad
