The Most Impressive Steakhouse I Visited This Year
🔥I've been wanting to try Georgie for a long time! It used to be by Curtis Stone, but they parted ways last year. The restaurant is located on Knox Street, and you can valet at 7D or park in the Weir's underground parking lot. Making a reservation isn't too difficult; if you book a week in advance, you have a good chance of getting a nice dinner slot on Saturday. Their menu is a fixed-price offering (appetizer, entrée, and sides). They serve a complimentary pre-dinner mini baguette that feels freshly baked from the oven. It's warm and delicious with butter! 🌟Appetizer: The oysters are from the East Coast and are very fresh and tasty. The potato churros are filled with smooth mashed potatoes and served with caramelized onion dip. I had a similar dish at Aspen Catch Steakhouse, which I thought was a bit better (I wish that place would open across from Nick & Sam's in Dallas). Maybe it's because Catch comes with caviar, whereas at Georgie, you'd have to pay an extra $19 for it. 🐔Entrée: The dry-aged duck breast was a delightful surprise! I had recently had some dry chicken in France that was a bit too dry, but Georgie's duck was still tender despite being dry-aged. It had a subtle smoky flavor, and it was served with two slices of strawberry, eggplant purée, and two slices of duck sausage. My husband ordered the filet medium, which was also very tender and delicious. It came with the restaurant's signature sauce, which had a hint of black pepper. For sides, we had fried green tomatoes, which we finished completely. Dessert: We ordered the candy bar, which was a chocolate mousse that wasn't overly sweet. Next time, I'll try the Basque cheesecake, which the waiter highly recommended! At the end of the meal, the restaurant also gave us truffle chocolates and some soft candy (I think it was guava-flavored). How could the complimentary treats not be delicious? #DallasLife #FoodExploration #DallasFood #Dallas #AroundDallas #Steak
