The Olympic becomes a magical forest in winter 🌲
The days I went to Olympic National Park, it snowed heavily every day. I was a bit disappointed that I couldn’t make it to Hurricane Ridge, but the Olympic Park in the snow was truly worth it! 📍Marymere Falls Trail This trail is right next to Lake Crescent, a 2-mile round trip. You can drive to Storm King Ranger Station with navigation, and then start hiking to the waterfall! 🌲The trees, rocks, and meadows along the Marymere Falls trail were covered in heavy snow. The green moss and white snow blended to create a magical scene, as if you’ve entered an enchanted forest, feeling like a fairy 🧚♂️ might appear at any moment! When we went, there were almost no other tourists, and walking through the snowy forest, you could clearly hear the sound of crunching snow. 🌲The area around the waterfall was also covered in snow, with flowing water forming icicles. It was my first time seeing such a sight! The ground around the waterfall was icy, so you have to be very careful when walking over. On the drive, you’ll pass Lake Crescent, where the entire blue lake and the surrounding trees are covered in a cold mist, like a ink painting! Winter at Olympic NP may not be as playful, but I highly recommend experiencing a snowy forest hike! #WashingtonState #AroundSeattle #OlympicNationalParkTravelNotes #olympicnationalpark #Hiking #Waterfall #Snowing #Forest #WinterForestHiking #lakecrescent #MagicalForest #Travel #RoadTrip #WesternUSATravel
