Marymere Falls is a beautiful and easy hike in Olympic National Park that rewards you with a stunning view of a 90-foot waterfall. The trail starts near Lake Crescent and follows a paved path through a lush forest of old-growth trees, ferns, and mosses. The trail then crosses two creeks and climbs up some switchbacks to reach the falls viewpoint. The waterfall is impressive and serene, cascading through a notch in the cliff and surrounded by greenery.
The hike is suitable for all ages and abilities, as it is only 1.7 miles roundtrip and has a moderate elevation gain of 298 feet. The trail is well-maintained and marked, and there are benches and restrooms along the way. The hike can be done year-round, but it may be muddy or snowy in winter. It is also a popular trail, so expect to see other hikers and arrive early to find parking.

Ā Ā Ā Read moreWARNING - I want ppl to know that this āshort hikeā is short, however the stairs to get up to this waterfall are quite literally daunting!! It feels as if youāre climbing up a 90 degree wall! It is very tiring on your legs, but if you can do it, itās beautiful!!! We had my husband drop me & my oldest daughter off on the side of the road where the bus stops are, from there you are cutting off half of the trail. You can go in on either side of the bridge, there is a trail on both sides. Just on one side you will have to duck a bit to make it under the bridge. Itās a well walked path, not beaten at all. But once you get to the 2nd little wooden bridge, be prepared to work those glutes as you climb what seems like a mountain of 90 degree stairs. I wish I would have gotten all the stairs on video but I couldnāt barely walk by that point lol but take my word on it. There is 2 viewing points so make sure to see it from both angels!! I hope this review helps someone because I wish I would have known about the stairs lol but so...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was a beautiful hike. For the shortest distance and best views make sure you turn left for the ranger station for the starting point. If your starting from the lodge you'll miss the tunnel that goes under hwy 101. The hike is 1.5 miles out and back from the ranger station and most of it is pretty easy. You'll cross 2 beautiful bridges before you have to get a serious grade upward. Then you get to the split in the trail, if you go left it's a slow and consistent grade to the top viewpoint of the falls. If you go right it's almost flat to the lower viewpoint of the falls, but then a short and steep upward grade to the upper viewpoint from there. I've passed the trail a few times and I'm happy I finally decided to stop today and check it out. Make sure if your traveling hwy 101 this is a must for anyone of any age. It's easy and well...
