The Origin of American Breakfast Pancakes — IHOP! 🥞🍴

IHOP was founded in Los Angeles in 1958—that's nearly 64 years of history! It's everywhere in LA, and holds a place in American families much like McDonald's or KFC does back home; it's a core part of many kids' childhood memories. 🧒👧 I've tried several branches and initially didn't quite get the hype—maybe it's a franchise consistency issue, where product standards aren't strictly followed. The IHOPs in predominantly Chinese areas do taste different compared to those in areas with more American or Latino customers. It’s probably a cultural difference, similar to how Chinese restaurants in Chinese neighborhoods are more authentic and tasty. 🥢 🥞 Back to the Food: While IHOP is famous for its pancakes, at the branch I visited, the waffles were actually better (or maybe I’m just biased toward waffles!)—they had a richer, toasted aroma. 🧇 How big are American stomachs, anyway? The pancakes come stacked high, slathered with butter and drenched in swirls of maple syrup—absolutely decadent! But for someone like me who prefers less sugar, the first bite was “Wow!”, and the second was “Okay, that’s too sweet.” 🍯 The Oreo milkshake was delicious 👍, but I could only handle a third before it felt too heavy. 😂 Oh, and their omelets are outstanding too—the portion was huge; I could only finish half! If you prefer something lighter, go for the mushroom and veggie omelet. 🍄🥬 💰 Around $20 per person 📍 Recommended Branch: ✅ 2450 Wardlow Rd, Corona, CA 92880 We went for breakfast/lunch—it was busy and we had to wait in line for a bit.
