The Right Way to Experience Rome
🍽️ It’s all about the food! This local artistic district called Trastevere is a true gem. I’m not exaggerating—my friend told me to just pick any place here, and I did. What I ended up with was the best meal of our entire European trip! 🥹 And guess what? The whole dinner for two was just over 70 euros! This area has a vibe reminiscent of Hong Kong’s Lan Kwai Fong—it's definitely a spot where locals come to eat and drink at night. 🌙🍷 We made a reservation at a restaurant called Meridionale. We ordered three dishes plus one dessert, and every single dish was so good it brought tears to our eyes! 😭 The octopus legs as an appetizer were incredibly tender and fresh. I had octopus almost every day in Greece, but none compared to this! Paired with cheesy mashed potatoes, it was just heavenly! 🐙🧀 Next up was the shrimp pasta, which was surprisingly delicious. The shrimp was fresh, and we were genuinely moved by how well it was cooked—tender and full of flavor! 🍤💖 We also had a braised lamb dish with vegetables, and the meat was far from dry. No kidding, this was the only restaurant during our entire trip where we cleaned our plates! Usually, we wouldn’t finish such generous portions, but it was just that good! 😋✨ After dinner, around 10 PM, we strolled through the vibrant center of the district, and it was bustling with people. Every restaurant had a long line out front, so definitely remember to make a reservation! You can book through the links on Google Maps. 🗺️📅 On our way, we spotted a gelato shop with a long queue, so we decided to give it a try. It wasn’t overly sweet—just bursting with fruity flavors! 🍦🍓 So much better than the overly sweet gelato I had bought earlier in the tourist area. Highly recommended! 🙌 #RomeFood #WhatToEatInRome #Rome #ItalianCuisine #RomeRestaurants
