The Unexpected Mashed Potato Journey
Day 4 of my UK trip 🎒: Sunlight poured over Coventry ☀️, making every street photo gorgeous. Today was a potato overdose—but in a funny way! 😂 Lunch at Artisan Restaurant (under my friend’s student flat)—a local网红 spot 🍽️. Since it was weekend lunchtime, almost empty 🪑. I ordered: 🍷 A glass of wine 🐟 Starter: Fish cake (with mashed potato inside!) 🥩 Main: 28-day aged beef (with mashed potato on the side!) ➕ Extra side: Mashed potato (because why not?) So. Much. Mashed. Potato. 🥔😵 Portions were huge—couldn’t finish the beef! Total bill: £37 💸 After lunch, walked to the famous Coventry Transport Museum 🚗 (didn’t take pics—will write separately!). Spent 2 hours there—highly recommended for car lovers! ⏳✨ Outside the museum: a big square with a statue of Sir Frank Whittle (inventor of the jet engine!) 🧭✈️. Across the square: Coventry Bus Station 🚏→ buses to Birmingham, Warwick Uni, etc. Next to the station: a row of restaurants! 🌶️ Yi Pin Ba Shu – reportedly the best Sichuan restaurant in town! Tried it for dinner—pretty authentic for overseas Chinese food! 🔥 🍜 To Pho (next door) – famous Vietnamese pho spot 🍲! A regular beef pho ≈ £14 💷, huge portion! Staff at both places spoke Chinese 🗣️✅ – super friendly! #Coventry #Warwick #DayTrip #UKTravel #FoodDiary #UnexpectedPotato
