Holidays at Kimberly Crest -------------------------- The Kimberly Crest House’s holiday lights are considered a signature Redlands tradition , popular with locals, history buffs, and tour groups. While the light displays will be up through December, here are a few dates to keep in mind to make the most of them. ### Holiday Lighting & “Windows into Christmas Past” See the Kimberly Crest House illuminated for the season at Holiday Lighting & Windows into Christmas Past, where you can watch the lights come on and peer into the windows of the estate to see historical scenes recreated. Bring a flashlight to explore the grounds and keep an eye out for Mr. and Mrs. Claus. 🗓️ Dates : Dec. 7-8, 2025, gates open at 5:30pm and lighting ceremony at 6pm ### Holiday Lights & Victorian Nights evening tours Take a tour of the Kimberly Crest House and Gardens in all their holiday splendor. The one-hour tours guide guests through the historic gardens and chateau, and include a sweet treat for each guest. 🗓️ Dates : Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from Dec. 11-21, 2025. Tours are available every half hour between 4 and 6:30pm. Visiting Kimberly Crest House & Gardens --------------------------------------- The Kimberly Crest House was built in 1897 for Cornelia A. Hill, a New Yorker who commissioned it as a French chateau-inspired residence. In 1905, Kimberly-Clark cofounder John Alfred Kimberly moved in with his wife Helen Cheney Kimberly, who added the Italian-style gardens and more historic elements. The home passed to the ownership of their daughter Mary Kimberly‐Shirk, who welcomed the public to see the annual magnolia holiday tree lighting starting in the 1960s.
