This Acclaimed Chicago Restaurant Just Lost its 3-Star Michelin Ranking
The Michelin Guide has demoted renowned Chicago restaurant and long-time 3-star stronghold Alinea to a 2-star ranking. For 20 years, Alinea has been devoted to pushing creativity, rigor, and the pursuit of perfection in our craft,” read the post. The announcement comes just days before Michelin hosts its 2025 U.S. northeast cities ceremony on November 18th in Philadelphia. The award show encompasses encompasses restaurants in Chicago, Philadelphia, Boston, and New York City. Your dedication, talent, and hospitality continue to elevate our industry.” Since its founding in 2005, Alinea has gained international acclaim for its approach to fine dining and Achatz’s pioneering use of molecular gastronomy. Michelin awarded the restaurant 3 stars in 2010 . With its demotion to 2 stars, Alinea joins the ranks of fine dining institutions Oriole and Ever.
