This Place Deserves a Shoutout! Their Pork Cutlet is Amazing 🥩🧀

LA Cheesesteak Hotpot Met up with friends to watch the sunset and take photos at Vista Del Mar 🌅 Then discovered that Jincook—a spot I’ve been wanting to try—was right nearby! So after snapping pics, we headed over for a delicious meal 😋 🔥 Braised Beef Short Rib + Cheese ★★★★★★ The pot looks smaller than Sunnongdan’s, but the portion is actually generous! The meat is super tender and flavorful—super satisfying. Cheese lovers must add cheese! (No flame show though 🔥) Their spiciest level is 3—I usually get level 5 at SND, but their chili seasoning is incredibly fragrant, sweet and spicy in just the right way. The pumpkin, potatoes, and rice cakes as sides were also super tasty and soaked up all the flavors!!! 🍠 Sweet Potato Cheese Curry Katsu ★★★★★ Huge portion! Four thick pork cutlets that look super hearty. First time trying sweet potato and cheese stuffed inside—such a unique combo! The pork was crispy outside and tender inside, with Japanese-style curry. So good! Reminds me of the Korean sweet potato pizza I had before—Koreans really know how to do fusion right 🤣 🐷 Spicy Pork ★★★★☆ Classic sweet and spicy Korean-style pork—very tender and tasty. Not too spicy (for someone like me from Jiangxi anyway 🌶️). 🥘 Spicy Tofu Stew ★★★★☆ The beef pieces were soft, and the tofu was silky and well-seasoned. The broth was flavorful but not too heavy—really enjoyable! 🫓 Hotteok ★★★☆ A Korean street snack—like a glutinous rice pancake with brown sugar filling. Drizzled with dark syrup—a bit too sweet for me, but worth trying for something new. The menu design is super cute—I really love menus with pictures!!! The interior is very Korean-style too, with beautiful mother-of-pearl lacquerware on the walls ✨ Many say this place is a budget-friendly alternative to Sunnongdan—price-wise maybe, but flavor-wise, the beef stew here is slightly sweeter (some might not prefer that). The spice level isn’t as high as SND (SND goes up to 5—I love extreme!), here it only goes to 3, but I feel their chili has more aroma. At SND, level 3 feels a bit lacking for me—I need level 5 to feel fully satisfied. Menu-wise, Jincook isn’t just a copy—their creative pork cutlet options totally won me over 😍 🅿️ Free indoor parking available—turn right from Habit into a small lot. 🔥 Jincook 📍 3001 Wilshire Blvd, Ste C, Santa Monica, CA 90403 #LosAngeles #LALife #LADining #EatDrinkLA #LAFood #LATravel #LAEats #LAKoreanFood #CaliforniaLife #Sunnongdan #KoreanBBQ #ComfortFood #CheeseLovers #SpicyEats #FoodieFind
