This little restaurant called Shanghai Haus in Lake Forest is seriously impressive. I love this kind of home-style private kitchen vibe — walking in feels cozy, just like a classic Shanghainese eatery. 🍖 Sweet & Sour Pork Ribs — The star of the table! Crispy outside, tender inside, sweet but not cloying at all. 🍚 Shanghai Vegetable Rice — A true classic. The cured meat inside is perfectly balanced — not too oily, not too dry. Just a few ribs and I finished a whole bowl of rice! 🦆 Crispy Duck — Had high expectations before it even arrived, and it didn’t disappoint. The skin was crunchy, the meat juicy — so fragrant even without sauce.
