Shanghai Haus — Restaurant in Lake Forest

We ordered 3 dishes that bear the name Shanghai to verify its authenticity. Only the sticky rice cake passed the mark. The noodle dish should be crispy outside and soft inside but it came as a block of dried noodles. The rice dish supposedly has lots of Shanghai bok choy and it only has tiny pieces. First of all 哈难切 in Shanghainese the food tastes really bad. Born and raised in Shanghai, I can testify that the food is definitely not authentic Shanghai food. And it’s boderline insulting to call it Shanghai food. Ordered several traditional Shanghai dishes and none of them taste good.(not even close) I ordered Kaofu and the taste was really weird . Food were terrible. I don’t recommend this place. Fried rice was needed to be fried longer. Dried sautéed string beans was very soaked in the sauce. It should be crunchy and crispy. Orange peel chicken was very dry and chewy. Mongolian Beef was soaked in sauce and not enough seasoning. I am not sure how they have 4.7 rating.
