A US sweep for the Municipal Water category ------------------------------------------- The Berkeley Springs International Water Tasting evaluates waters in five categories : Best Municipal Water, Best Non-Carbonated Water, Best Sparkling Water, Best Purified Water, and the People’s Choice Package Design. The 2025 competition took place in February, when a panel of 10 judges spent hours tasting over 80 waters from 4 different continents . The Municipal Water category was swept by U.S. entries, with California’s Mission Springs Water District (MSWD) in Desert Hot Springs taking bronze. This brings the MSWD’s medal count up to 11 since it first entered the contest in 1997. It came in just behind water from Emporia, KS, and Berkeley Springs, WV. Several other California towns and water companies found success in other categories of the water competition. Sacramento’s Adobe Mountain won 5th place in the Sparkling Water category and 3rd place for the People’s Choice Package Design. Santa Barbara’s Ophora Hyper-Oxygenated Water took 3rd in the Purified category. “The consistency in winners from year to year with different panels of judges validates the choices,” said watermaster Arthur von Wiesenberger. “It also speaks to the impressively high caliber of the waters entered.” Berkeley Springs International Water Tasting -------------------------------------------- Every year, Travel Berkeley Springs produces the Berkeley Springs International Water Tasting at The Country Inn in Berkeley Springs, West Virginia.
