Three Omakase Experiences in Chicago 🍣
Three spots around the same price point — here’s my personal ranking: Omakase Room at Sushi-san > Omakase Shoji >> Omakase Yume | Omakase Room at Sushi-san The photos don’t cover the full menu.😂😊 Every course felt creative and thoughtful. The setting is intimate and vibey, and the chef interacted warmly — we toasted together, chatted throughout, and left feeling truly satisfied. | Omakase Shoji Both Japanese chefs were lovely and passionate about their craft.😘🙌 The menu was well-designed with careful details. At one point, one chef complimented my manicure (maybe rare to see on a guy 😄), and the other literally hopped over to take a look — so cute! | Omakase Yume Run. 🏃♂️💨 All three places use great ingredients at this price — no issue there. But if the experience isn’t even decent, I’d want a refund. The chef never smiled, barely looked up, and all explanations were done by the server. Felt like a sushi conveyor belt, not an omakase counter. 18 courses in under an hour — clearly rushing. If you ate slowly, you felt pressured. Awkward and disappointing overall. #OmakaseChicago #SushiSan #ShojiOmakase #YumeChicago #ChicagoEats #FineDining
