Travel Diary|Hastings Really Knows How to Steal Hearts
Hastings—a coastal town in southeast England—won me over with its endless shoreline, thousand-year fishing heritage, and cliffside sunset views. Though the forecast predicted clouds, Hastings gifted me magic. ➊ Hastings Beach Just 10 minutes from the station, the beach unfolded: sea melting into sky, waves still as glass. Under patchy clouds, sunlight pierced through, turning pebbles into glittering pearls strewn across the shore. ✨ ➋ Hastings Pier Walking along the coast, I reached the pier—a place woven with love and memory. Plaques adorned railings and benches, each honoring someone cherished: "Alex, who leapt off this pier every summer... left us at 31. Loved by so many." "Paul’s bench faces the sea he adored—surrounded by love forever." ➌ Old Town George St and High St pulsed with indie charm: no chain stores, only owner-curated boutiques and vintage havens. I scored 2 rings + 2 earrings for £35! At Hastings Antiques Warehouse, the owner grinned when I said her shop was famous on Chinese social media: "Xiaohongshu, right?" (Global fame unlocked! 😄) ➍ West Hill & East Hill Short but steep climbs led to panoramic views. Houses spilled down in soft pastels; waves etched lace-like patterns on the shore. Seagulls swirled above dogs romping through grass. Then—sunset at East Hill: the coast blushed orange soda-hued, streetlights flickered on, and taillights streamed like ruby rivers. Pure magic. 🌅 #Hastings #UKTravel #LondonDayTrips #SeasideMagic #HiddenEngland
