Travel Guide to Rome & Florence
Travel Itinerary for Florence & Rome Florence Overview : Florence's attractions are quite concentrated, so you can mostly explore on foot. As the birthplace of the Renaissance, the city is dotted with works by masters like Michelangelo and Bernini. You might just walk into a random roadside church and encounter a masterpiece! 😊 Rome Overview : Rome is a much larger city and requires the use of public transportation. We mainly relied on taxis due to concerns about pickpockets on the subway and not having a bus plan. Our itinerary was pretty convenient, with each taxi ride costing around €10-15, which is roughly €1 per minute by our calculation. Just hail a taxi from a designated pick-up point and avoid those that only accept cash, no matter what excuse they give about the POS machine! Beware of the taxi stand outside the Vatican Museums—some drivers will try to negotiate prices!
