Is OKC “OK” or not? Is it a “city” or not? When wandering around OKC, does it really feel as run-down as people claim a “poor state” city would be? In my opinion, people who have visited this city might come to quite different conclusions. 👉 First, the conclusion: The downsides? Not many high-rises ❓ Prone to thunderstorms and tornadoes ❓ Not many shops occupying street-front spaces ❓ The upsides? Hardly any homeless people 👍 Comfortable street scale 👍 Low cost of living 👍 Strong focus on public transportation 👍 🤩 It ranks among the Top 20 U.S. cities by population and Top 50 U.S. cities for livability. Late Afternoon of Day 2: OKC Underground + Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum + Paseo Arts District OKC Underground It’s only open from 6 AM to 8 PM, Monday to Friday. But even looking through the glass at the underground passage gives you a rough sense of what it’s like. As a major urban renewal project, it’s mainly used to cope with uncontrollable weather and natural disasters. The highlight is that there may be art galleries inside—so at least you won’t feel frustrated while sheltering from extreme weather. 😊🌆🚶♂️ Oklahoma City National Memorial & Museum Whether you want to go inside the museum to learn more about the details of the tragic incident is up to you.
