Travel Notes: Providence, Rhode Island
📖 The Providence Athenaeum So many ancient books here — the basement level is filled with poetry collections. There are plenty of independent chairs and desks tucked between the bookshelves, perfect for quiet reading. 🖼️ RISD Museum One student exhibit left a deep impression on me: a porcelain piece inspired by the concept of a “hundred-family quilt,” printed with photos taken by the artist’s grandfather. ⭐ I thought I recognized Baotu Spring and Houzaimen Street in the images — it evoked a subtle but powerful sense of connection. 🍽️ Den Den Korean Fried Chicken The fried chicken was pretty good, though not particularly outstanding. 🍰 Pastiche Tried their Butterscotch Cake, which came with a side of whipping cream. 🔥The caramelized topping was very sweet, while the cake itself had a moist, dense pound cake texture. 🔥Since it was cold outside, the staff suggested heating it in the microwave for 30 seconds before eating. Next time, I’ll definitely try their scones! #RhodeIsland #WeekendInRI #Providence
