Tried Coreanos. Rating: 50/50

A small Korean restaurant tucked away in Allston šŸ“ 172 Brighton Ave, Allston, MA 02134 I originally went because of a friend’s recommendation, mainly for these two dishes. However, I ended up ordering takeout multiple times (their delivery is really hard to snag—especially the fried pork cutlet kimbap I wanted most, which is often out of stock! 😤). Anyway, here’s what I thought: šŸš Beef Fried Rice with Lots of Sauce (the name I made up) To be honest, it was a bit bland—not sure if it’s because of takeout. The sauce looks generous, but it doesn’t mix in well, and it can get cloying after a while. The beef portions are generous, and there are diced carrots too, but overall it’s just a standard beef fried rice—not bad, but not impressive either. šŸ™ Fried Pork Cutlet Kimbap It’s genuinely tasty! But I strongly advise against getting it for takeout. Why? Because once it cools, the pork gets dry and the texture suffers. One roll for about $10 just isn’t filling, especially when you’re hungry after work… It’s good but leaves you wanting more, and feels a bit pricey for what you get šŸ’ø. šŸ“Œ Tips: The fried rice comes with a side of soup, which helps cut through the richness. Their kimchi seems homemade… but not in a good way—it’s dry, lacks juice, and the seasoning hasn’t soaked in. It reminds me of the kimchi I attempted in college šŸ˜…. Fine as a free side, but I wouldn’t order it separately. Verdict: If you’re in Allston and craving simple Korean food, it’s worth trying in person. But if you’re making a special trip or ordering delivery, you might feel a bit let down. #BostonEats #BostonFoodExploration #BostonKoreanFood #TakeoutTips #AllstonEats
