I ordered the bulgogi bibimbap on a regular Monday night and I would recommend avoiding this dish here. The bulgogi was dry and a bit plain. The fried egg was good well, with a runny yolk when I popped it. The sides were not great, not fresh, and it was a bit paltry (just a thin layer, you can see through to the bottom of the tray). The soybean sprouts and carrots were okay, not very seasoned. The radish was a little bitter, not sweet and sour as expected, so maybe it was going bad. The spinach also seemed a bit old. The inclusion of plain shredded lettuce was just very odd to me. I've never seen that as a Korean side dish before and frankly, it is so bland that I don't think it should have been served as a side vegetable. The bibimbap sauce was great, with just a low amount of heat (should be tolerable to most people), and a bit of sweetness. The miso soup was okay, with a couple of bits of tofu and scallion. Overall, the dish was extremely disappointing and unfortunately it the worst bibimbap I've ever eaten.
Service was fast on a regular Monday night. There were about a dozen takeout bags on the counter, but the staff greeted and served me promptly.
This place seems to have gotten much more popular over the years, but the quality has also gone downhill. I will give this place another try someday, because I ordered the Coreanos bowl a couple of years ago and I remember liking it, so maybe that is still good. Hopefully, I can increase the...
Read moreHonestly? This place is responsible for really the only serotonin I've experienced in the year 2020. I stumbled across Coreanos while looking for a new place in my neighborhood to try, and I'm consistently satisfied beyond belief.
Every time I order, I always tell myself I'm not going to buy the peach limeade, but I've learned to stop fooling myself, and not to deny myself this nectar of the gods that literally invented the concept of flavor. How is this beverage SO DELICIOUS? How is it serving me every flavor I've ever wanted in a light and fruity beverage? What is the secret?
My go-tos for food are the Coreanos bowl, and the veggie dumplings. The dumplings are cooked perfectly. They're tasty, and the shell is not overly heavy and has that elusive little smooch of crispiness. The Coreanos bowl is undefeated and might be the key to world peace. The toasty, pan-fried flavor of the rice. The SAUCES. The fried egg on top cooked to perfection. Which celestial being from the heavens above cooked this food?
And the STAFF. Literally can I dump all my friends and just hang out with all of you instead? Give Coreanos the Nobel Prize. Put them in the Library of Congress. Write hymns to commemorate the blessed miracle of their existance.
Five stars....
Read moreI recently went out with a friend at the Brighton Music Hall and stopped by Coreanos for a quick snack. This might sound a bit crazy, but what attracted us to this place was their logo. We knew it was good food spot when we saw several cars double parked.
We instantly loved their concept of cross blending Korean with Mexican cuisine! I had the kimchi fritata paired with bbq ribs and devoured the good sized plate in no time. It was delicious, flavorful and yet not overseasoned. The plates a freshly preparedand you can definitely taste that. The fries had the right crunch and the fried egg had the perfect texture. I loved it so much I had to go back and drag along my husband. He ordered the tacos and he loved and exclaimed he hadn't had great tacos since his last trip to CA. .and he absolutely loved it and instantly declared it as perfect go to spot.
The staff was so friendly and the place was clean and cozy. It could use additional seating, but given the size of this space, it would be impossible to accommodate! The food was so good that i think this place deserves 4.8 stars. I could totally see them expanding by adding...
