Truly Lives Up to Its Rep as One of America’s Top Italian Restaurants!

Fiola is an Italian restaurant located right next to the JHU DC campus building! It’s super close to the back gate of the school—so convenient to pop over after class! 🏫✨ I was able to make a same-day reservation through Yelp/Google Maps. I skipped the tasting menu (heard the 5-course/9-course options are super filling!) and went with à la carte ordering instead. 🍞 Bread – $18 The bread is freshly baked 🥖, the butter is made daily, and the olive oil is imported from Colombia. It was incredibly fragrant and delicious—absolutely excellent! I always thought bread was complimentary, so was surprised it cost extra… but it was worth it! 😋🧈 🍹 Zero Proof Sbagliato – $16 Made with apple, ginger beer, and orange. No alcohol taste at all—just a sweet-and-sour mocktail. Really refreshing and highly recommended! 🍎🍊🌟 🍝 Cannelloni del Sud – $52 Essentially pasta rolls stuffed with eggplant and cheese, topped with tomato sauce. So delicious I finished all five rolls in one go! 🍅🧀🔥 🍮 Pera & Zabaglione – $24 Vanilla-flavored dessert with a crispy biscuit on top—just the right amount of sweetness. So yummy! 🍐🍪💫 💧 Acqua Panna – $9 A bit of a misstep—didn’t really need to order water just for myself. 💰 Per person: $150+ (tip at your discretion—service was exceptional! 😊) Tasting menu – 9 courses: $285 Tasting menu – 5 courses: $225 📍 601 Pennsylvania Avenue NW, Washington, DC 20004 I personally loved every dish I ordered, so I’m surprised reviews online are so mixed—maybe I’m just easy to please lol! 😂 Since I was dining alone, I kept it light. Didn’t try an appetizer, but the FUNGO MARINO (sea scallops, shiitake mushrooms, herb pesto) looked amazing—definitely next time! 🍄🌿 Nothing beats treating yourself to a fancy meal after grinding through finals! 👩🎓📚 And yes, I walked in wearing a hoodie, no makeup, totally casual among a well-dressed crowd—but owned it with zero shame 😎👚💁♀️ Hoodie-and-fancy-dinner vibe? That’s my kind of casual.
