Tsukuneya Izakaya | Honolulu
I had originally planned to go to the super popular Torikuya Charcoal Grill, but they only accept reservations. 🤦🏻♀️ And once they’re fully booked, they don’t take any more. Later, I stumbled upon this hidden gem 🏮 of an izakaya nearby, which also serves grilled chicken. The absolute best dish was their 😍 Unagi Kamameshi eel rice pot, which is cooked right in front of you—a pretty novel experience. Following that, the Tsukune 🍢 meatballs were also super delicious. Every small dish I ordered 👍🏻 was a hit; I just wish my stomach were bigger to try the Paitan Bijin-ni beauty pot. This izakaya is a bit out of the way, and when we arrived, we were the only table. We might have gone a bit early at 5:30 PM. By 7 PM, the place was pretty much full, which speaks to the quality of the food—it certainly didn’t disappoint. #HiddenGemDining #HiddenGemIzakaya #JapaneseIzakaya #HawaiiIzakaya #HawaiiRestaurant #HawaiiFood #HawaiiFoodExploration #HawaiiTravel #Honolulu #Hawaii |
