Two Days in Aswan: Tiring but Totally Worth It! ππ
Followed a classic tourist route β flew from Cairo βοΈ to Aswan, landed at 8 PM, and took a private car to Zen Wellness Hotel (highly recommended β more on hotels later! π¨). π Abu Simbel Temple Woke up at 6 AM π, had breakfast in the car π₯ͺ, 3.5-hour drive each way π, spent 2 hours exploring. Standing before the colossal statues of Ramses II was absolutely awe-inspiring π²β¨ β a completely different vibe from the pyramids! Inside the temple, you can ask the guard for the "Key of Life" to take photos πΈπ β a small tip gets you some fun, creative camera work from them! π Nubian Village After returning from Abu Simbel, we took a 30-minute boat ride π€ to the Nubian Village. Some say itβs not worth it, but I personally found it charming π‘π β a place that feels both very Egyptian (basic infrastructure) and not (colorful houses & murals!). Perfect for a peaceful Nile sunset, touching baby crocodiles π, chatting with local shop owners, and bargaining for souvenirs. π Philae Temple Slept in a bit on the second day π΄, had a good breakfast, then headed to Philae Temple ποΈ β also reached by boat. The view of the temple from the water is stunning! Like Abu Simbel, it was relocated. It was the most photogenic spot of my trip β with grand pillars, detailed carvings, and perfect views of the temple against the Nile πΈπ. Plus, there were so many cats π± β including newborn kittens! Everyone was lining up to take photos with them. Petting cats truly is a universal language π». #Egypt #LostCivilizations #Aswan #AbuSimbel #NubianVillage #PhilaeTemple #TravelDiary #Wanderlust π
