Underrated Columbus | One-Day Eat & Play Guide 🗺️☀️

What can you do in Columbus in just one day? Come copy my itinerary! ☀️ Morning | Brunch + OSU Campus 📍 Fox in the Snow Café Start your day with a delicious brunch! Their most popular combo is ☕️ + 🥪. Their egg sandwich is famously called “the best in the world”—thick, hearty, and super flavorful. Check my previous post for more 😬 After eating, take a stroll around the nearby OSU campus. The Horseshoe Stadium’s grand arch, Thompson Library, and Mirror Lake are surrounded by red-brick buildings, green spaces, and lakes—perfect for photos on a sunny day! 📸 🍦 Late Morning | Local Vibe 📍 North Market 📍 Downtown Columbus North Market was highly recommended by a local friend. Hidden inside is the must-try Jeni’s Ice Cream 🍦—the original shop! Lots of unique flavors 😍. Brambleberry Crisp 🍓 and Tropical Bloom 🍊 are great. Personal favorite: the blueberry lemon scone from the bakery—absolutely yummy 😋 Then drive downtown to check out the Capitol Building, urban sculptures, and historic architecture 📷 ☕️ Afternoon | Artsy & Chill 📍 German Village 📍 Franklin Park Conservatory & Botanical Gardens Head to German Village for lunch at the popular German restaurant Schmidt’s 🌭 (see previous post for review 🍽️). Afterward, walk to The Book Loft—a massive maze-like independent bookstore 📖 with 32 rooms! It feels like a treasure hunt. Nearby is local favorite Pistacia Vera. Their pistachio latte is the richest I’ve ever tasted! 🍵 Matcha is also great, and they have a variety of macarons 💁🏻‍♀️ Then make your way to Franklin Park Conservatory—a semi-outdoor botanical garden blending greenhouse plants and glass art. Highly recommend the butterfly exhibit! 🦋 Getting surrounded by flying butterflies is a uniquely magical experience. 🛍️ Evening | Shopping + Dinner 📍 Easton Town Center This open-air shopping village has a great selection of brands and a lively atmosphere—perfect for a relaxed stroll. 🍴 For dinner, try The Guild House. Still testing whether it’s worth the hype! #Columbus #Ohio #OSU #OhioFood #OhioLife #DayTripFromToronto #HappyMoments
