Unlock a New Way to Travel: A Rock Climbing Beginner's Adventure
✔️On a rainy day, I headed straight to Arkose Nice. 1500 sqm of pure bouldering space—wow! It feels like it has even more bouldering routes than the Meishan International Climbing Center (or at least just as many). There are so many routes that you can always find a quiet spot. The spacing is generous, so you don't have to worry about someone behind you (you know what I mean). Plus, the variety of shapes and holds is incredible. There are even some tricky "interference points" that really test your ability to read the route. Weight shifting is heavily utilized here—I loved it and can't wait to come back! ✔️The difficulty levels here range from yellow to green, blue, red, black, and purple. I'm probably at an L1-L2 level back home (maybe L2-L3 if I'm feeling confident). Here, I can handle the yellow routes and manage about half of the green ones, but the overhanging green routes are a bit too challenging. 🎁 Climbers, get ready for routes from yellow to purple! Time to start "head climbing." ✔️On weekdays, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, enjoy Happy Hour with a single entry for just 10 euros (regular price is around 15 euros, plus 5 euros for shoe rental). There's a restaurant on-site, so you can grab a bite if you get hungry. There's also a shop where you can buy climbing gear if you don't have your own. It's perfectly fine to go solo, like I did. I even borrowed a locker lock and some chalk (first time using liquid chalk—what a strong alcohol smell! I wonder if using liquid chalk on a cut hand would feel refreshingly cool?). ✔️The place stays open late into the night (it's pretty late, but I went to bed around 9 PM during my stay in Nice and didn't quite get it). When I left around 6:30 PM, the place was noticeably busier, with a great climbing atmosphere. There were beginners and also those who just looked super skilled—tall, lean, and with long legs. Everything was perfect, except they don't provide phone mounts. 😓 ✔️Writing this, I added a ton of parentheses and explanations—that's the charm of a solo trip! #IndoorBouldering #Bouldering #ClimbOn #NewClimbingForce #HighEnergyClimbers #Nice #Arkose #ArkoseClimbing #NiceTravel
