We chose outdoor seating because the California weather is just too perfect. We ordered the spaghetti Bolognese — the pasta was wonderfully al dente, and the beef ragù was slow-cooked to rich, deep perfection. The real standout was the beef carpaccio — incredibly tender with no trace of gaminess, topped simply with cheese and pepper. After watching the parade, we picked Soh Grill House for Korean BBQ in Pasadena. The space feels bright and open with clean design, polished concrete floors, white tables, and wooden chairs. They feature a down-draft ventilation system that pulls smoke downward — though it felt more like strong AC blasting air down while we grilled. We got the Lucky Split for two ($90) — generous portions that left us very full. The meat quality was excellent — highly recommend the beef tongue. The banchan (side dishes) were authentically Korean, and the sauces are reportedly made by their Korean head chef — no wonder they tasted so good! Service was attentive — the staff grilled for us — but they grilled so quickly that some meat got cold before we could finish.
