🥾 Chulilla Hike: Sun, Suspension Bridges & a (Very Late) Start Sundays were made for hiking—even if our crew turned a planned 8am meetup into a 9:30am scramble (only me, up on time 😅). But once we hit the road, the 45-minute drive from Valencia was worth it: Chulilla’s trails, views, and tiny white village made for the perfect (late summer/early fall) adventure. 🌞 The Hike Breakdown Distance: ~10km round-trip, with a 1.5-hour climb to the reservoir and 1.5 hours back. Highlights: White Villages: Quaint, cobblestone streets with terracotta roofs—so pretty, we lingered for photos before starting. Gorges & Bridges: Two iconic suspension bridges spanning the canyon—dramatic, windy, and ideal for group shots. Vibes: Friendly hikers passing by, exchanging “buenos días” and smiles—small moments that made the trail feel welcoming. ⚠️ Key Tips (We Learned the Hard Way) Sun Protection: Wear a hat and sunscreen. September midday sun in Valencia is no joke—our arms got lightly burned, even with layers. Shoes: Sturdy sneakers are a must—some paths are rocky or steep. Start Early: Skip our mistake! Leave by 8am to beat the heat and crowds. We hit the trail at 10:30am and felt the sun by noon. 👀 Next Time There’s another route down to a stream in the canyon—we’re already planning a return trip to check it out. Chulilla’s mix of nature, village charm, and manageable trails makes it a top weekend pick. Just set that alarm earlier next time, crew… 😉 #ChulillaHike #ValenciaOutdoors #WeekendWanderlust
