🍮 A Michelin-Worthy Gem (Without the Star): Seasonal Tasting Menus in Valencia Rumored to rival Michelin spots (no star, but the skill to back it up), this place requires reservations—and serves only tasting menus: M, L, XL, with varying prices and courses. Menus shift with the seasons, and staff check for dietary aversions first. We visited for a friend’s birthday back in late May; dishes may have changed since, but here’s our take. 📋 Our Pick: MenĂș “M” (€75) 13 courses total: 5 snacks, 5 mains, 3 petit desserts. 🌟 The Highlights Viaje a la India đŸ„Ł A tiny cup of mussel curry soup with mango—a surprise standout. The mango’s sweetness tames the curry’s heat and the mussels’ brininess, creating a bright, balanced sip. Solomillo đŸ„© Tender beef tenderloin, cooked to buttery perfection. Even after the plate was cleared, we found ourselves craving more—easily the most satisfying main. Desserts 🍰 All three hit the mark: White asparagus panna cotta with strawberry compote (our favorite, light and creamy), a chocolate “bomb” (like a fudgy, oozing brownie), and petit fours (colorful, bite-sized sweets). Service & Vibe ✹ Every course came with fresh cutlery and paired bread (the pumpkin-flavored one was a standout). Staff explained each dish in detail, checked in on our thoughts, and even led the whole room in singing to a solo birthday guest. By the end, they gave us a card listing all dishes and the team—such a nice touch. 😐 Forgettable Bits 5 Snacks 🧆 Tiny, one-bite creations with layered flavors. The pistachio-green one was good, but others (mixes of (meat sauce), cheese, and fruit) felt hit-or-miss—some loved them, I didn’t. Ensalada de Tomate 🍅 A cold tomato soup so unmemorable, I can’t recall the taste. Says it all. ❌ The Major Letdowns Robo de Toro 🐂 Oxtail that missed the mark: tough, overly salty, paired with a tart mango (or lemon?) garnish. We choked it down, but just barely. Smoked Salmon 🐟 The biggest disappointment. Staff called it their “12-year crowd favorite”—we had high hopes. What arrived? A tiny, pitch-black slab insanely salty (one bite = chugging water). No hint of salmon flavor, with a dry, hard layer of black rice underneath. Three months later, we still cringe thinking about it. 💡 Who It’s For Perfect for anniversaries or fans of bold, fusion flavors. Skip if you prefer milder tastes—some dishes lean heavy on salt or unexpected combinations. This spot nails ambiance and service, with flashes of brilliance. Just cross your fingers the salmon’s been tweaked since May. #ValenciaTastingMenu #FineDining #FoodAdventures
