🏁 Shelburne Farm 📍 1611 Harbor Rd, Shelburne, VT 05482 💵 Free entry (paid guided tours available) This farm is actually an NGO focused on farm-related education. From May to October, it offers many free activities like milking demonstrations and animal interactions. Paid activities include cheese-making workshops and tours of the farm’s inn (a converted historic mansion once owned by the daughter of railroad tycoon Vanderbilt and her husband). From November to April, it remains open but with fewer activities. The farm is huge, with over 10 miles of trails to explore. 😊 Funny story: When we visited, I wanted to drive to the inn and its nearby gardens, but a parking attendant said only hotel guests or diners could drive in. Later, another staff member told us, "That’s not true—the attendant was a temp. Ignore that!" 😂 📍 Teddy Bear Factory 🏁 6655 Shelburne Rd, Shelburne, VT 05482 💵 Factory tour: $5 This was the least crowded spot—maybe because it was a weekday? The tour wasn’t super engaging, but maybe it’s just because I’m not into stuffed animals. Kids would probably love it! The guide’s script and tone were clearly designed for children, which made the vibe a bit quirky with a group of adults (including a nose-pierced lady and a heavily tattooed guy). 😅 But when the lady said in a high-pitched voice, "Wow, that’s so cute!" I realized everyone has an inner child—except maybe me, because I felt old. 🙈 📍 Ben & Jerry’s Factory 🏁 1281 Waterbury-Stowe Rd Route 100, Waterbury, VT 05676 💵 Factory tour: $7 This is Ben & Jerry’s first factory in the US! It’s not very big—the tour includes a short film about the brand’s history, a walk through the production line, and a free sample of one ice cream flavor. 🍦 There’s also a popular ice cream shop, a gift store, and a "Flavor Graveyard" with tombstones for discontinued flavors. Pro tip: Book tickets online! Tours run every 30 minutes, but they sell out quickly. Walk-ins might miss out. 😱 # Burlington #TravelVT #Adventures #HiddenGems 🚗💨
