šŸ“ Visiting "The Biggest Little Farm" at Apricot Lane Farm 🌱🚜

Following up on my last post—after watching the heartwarming documentary The Biggest Little Farm, I was thrilled to discover that this incredible farm is less than an hour’s drive from LA! šŸš—šŸ’Ø So I booked their 9 AM walking tour on a weekend: šŸ“Œ Tour Details: • Cost: $65 per person • Kids under 5 are free • Check their website for other events—book in advance! āœ… The Positive Highlights: The farm is stunning—lush, green, and beautifully organized, unlike typical LA scenery. It feels natural, peaceful, and refreshing. 🌿🌸 Our guide led a group of about 25 people around part of the farm, explaining how plants, animals, and ecosystems work together in harmony. The 2-hour tour wasn’t too long but was packed with insights—like walking through a real-life utopia where humans, plants, and animals thrive together. After the tour, we visited the farmstand, which sells their homegrown fruits, veggies, eggs, and souvenirs. We bought a box of farm-fresh eggs—each egg was a different color! 🄚🌈 Achievement unlocked: ā€œColorful Eggs Collected!ā€ We ended the trip enjoying our homemade sandwiches under the vine-covered pavilion, listening to the wind and insects—pure bliss. šŸ˜ŒšŸž āš ļø Stop here if you want to keep the magic intact! āš ļø Now for the downsides: • At 65 per person, the tour feels overpriced. I’d say 30 would be more reasonable, but hey, it’s popular thanks to the documentary. • The farmstand isn’t cheap either—$22 for 12 eggs. But YOLO, right? • The experience is more ā€œeducational hikeā€ than interactive—I’d hoped for fruit-picking or tastings, but no luck. Rating: 3.5āļø / 5āļø Great if you’ve seen the documentary or want to teach kids about farm ecosystems. But if you’re just looking for a fun weekend activity, it might fall a bit short. Still, a unique and meaningful experience overall! āš ļø Look away now if you want to keep the farm’s magic alive! āš ļø Seriously, go no further! My personal take: The farm’s success isn’t accidental. The owners are smart—they’re filmmakers who planned this from the start: Documenting the transformation of barren land into a green oasis šŸŽ„āž”ļøšŸŒ³, combining farming with tourism and education. This creates a virtuous cycle of visitors, sales, and fame—which is why investors backed them with millions. It’s not just a farm; it’s a brilliantly executed vision.
