Washington D.C.|Food Diary Vol. 2
Last year’s list had some of the bigger names — you can find those in my earlier posts. This year, I kept exploring without repeats. No sponsorships, no discounts — just real meals, real thoughts. 🍴 The Roundup — One-Liner Reviews Un je ne sais Quoi... — A charming French bakery where the croissants almost whisper Paris. Amazonia — Seriously delicious Peruvian. Bright ceviche, hearty lomo saltado. 🌟 Rumi’s Kitchen — Authentic Persian, beautifully presented… but maybe not my flavor compass. SURA — Tasty Thai street food vibes — think sizzling plates and bold spices. 🌶️ Dōgon by Kwame Onwuachi — West African-inspired, ambitious, but didn’t quite win me over. Love, Makoto — The yakiniku spot inside — quality meats, intimate setting. Osteria Mozza DC — Reliable Italian, the kind you take your parents to. Ted’s Bulletin — All-American comfort, famous for homemade Pop-Tarts. Colada Shop — Cuban brunch with strong coffee and lively energy. Gute Leute — A Korean café that charmed me once… less so the second time. Morton's — The steakhouse you visit when you want no surprises. La Grande Boucherie DC — French brasserie grandeur — more vibe than bite. Rania — Excellent upscale Indian — layered spices and elegant servings. 🌿 CopyCat Co. — Sister to Astoria’s gem — creative cocktails, confident flavors. Mandu — Korean classics that felt… safe. Laos in Town — Where I learned Lao food might not be my thing — and that’s okay. ✨ The Takeaway My palate leans toward bold, spice-forward Asian cuisines (Thai, Indian ✅). Fusion and concept spots intrigue me, but execution has to match the idea. And sometimes, you just realize a cuisine isn’t for you — no hard feelings. 📌 Still Eating, Still Writing Always hunting for the next great meal in the DMV. Recommendations welcome — I’ll be back with another round soon. #DMVfood #WashingtonDCEats #FoodDiary #HonestReviews #GeorgetownEats #JHUlife #EatLocalDC #DiningOutDMV
