Washington D.C. đșđž | $28 Weekday Lunch Deal is a Steal! đ
A highly recommended Spanish restaurant thatâs been getting a lot of buzz. When booking, I noticed the weekend evenings were fully booked, so I opted for a Friday lunch and hit the weekday lunch special! For just $28 (+$6 for Sangria), you get 2 appetizers, 1 main course, and 1 dessert. Itâs an absolute bargain! We ordered one lunch set and a few additional dishes we were curious about, and we had a fantastic meal. Lunch Set: đ„ Ensaladilla Rusa : Called "the ultimate tapa," itâs a mayo-based potato salad with lots of canned tuna. While not mind-blowing, the combination of ingredients is solid. The red pepper on top adds a nice touch, brightening up the flavors and presentation of the otherwise plain potato salad! đ Berenjenas a La Malagueña : Thin, soft slices of fried eggplant with honey and lemon zest. Itâs a light, sweet dish, but being fried, it can get a bit heavy by the end. đ€ Gambas al ajillo : A classic and reliable choice for Tapas. Itâs hard to go wrong with this dish. đź Flan : A very standard caramel pudding. The caramel is quite sweet on its own, but pairing it with whipped vanilla cream balances the sweetness nicely. đ· Sangria : Lower on fruitiness and sweetness, not my personal favorite. Additional Orders: đ Pan de cristal tomato : Looks simple and uses common ingredients, but itâs delicious! Thin, crispy slices of baguette topped with flavorful fresh tomato chunks, a drizzle of olive oil, and a pinch of salt. Perfect as an appetizer! đ Calamares en su tinta : A unique dish with soft, tender baby octopus thatâs very fresh and flavorful. đ§ Tarta de Queso : The sea-salt, sheepâs milk Basque cheesecake was our main reason for choosing this place. Even though we were full, we couldnât resist. Itâs baked to a delicate texture, almost molten inside. Neither of us loves sheepâs milk, but this one was tolerable. chorizo casero a la sidra con purĂ© de patatas y aceite de oliva: I missed out on the smoky chorizo with lots of paprika in Atlanta, so I kept searching. This one wasnât quite what I remembered, but the pork sausage with mashed potatoes is hard to mess up. Not a top pick, but not bad either. #GlobalFoodReviewContest #AmericasPartyCorner #WashingtonDC #DMV
